Self Management and Recovery Training (SMART) Groups are voluntary self-help groups that can be used alone or in conjunction with one-on-one treatment.
Bridges runs the evidence-based 90-minute groups every Wednesday evening between 5 and 7 pm. No appointment is necessary but to help us manage demand we would appreciate a phone call to let us know that you are interested in attending.
The Groups are led by two of our AOD clinicians and aim to assist participants manage and recover from their alcohol or drug misuse. As with other Bridges programs, SMART takes a harm minimisation rather than an abstinence approach.
The groups are anonymous and confidential so anyone can attend for as long or as little as they like. Participants have the opportunity to discuss difficulties, challenges, accomplishments and successes while focusing on goals.
